About KEOM

Since its launch on September 4, 1984, KEOM 88.5 FM has been a unique voice in North Texas broadcasting. Founded by former Mesquite ISD Superintendent Dr. Ralph Poteet, the station began at 88.3 FM with 3,000 watts before expanding in 1992 to 88.5 FM with a 61,000-watt signal reaching listeners across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. For more than 40 years, KEOM has delivered classic hits, local news, and high school sports while serving as a hands-on learning laboratory for Mesquite ISD students. Managed by professional staff, KEOM is the only high school radio station in Texas with student on-air DJs heard throughout the region.
